About Henry Doohan, ‘Donegal Tour Guide’

Hi, what’s the craic? Thanks for considering me as your personal tour guide and private driver during your vacation in Ireland.

I’m Henry Doohan, born and bred in County Donegal. I’m a Fáilte Ireland approved Local, Regional, and National Tour Guide, with all SPSV (small public service vehicle) licenses and the necessary passenger transport insurance. With over a decade in the tourism and hospitality industry, I’ve learned the ins and outs of creating memorable experiences that highlight hidden gems that go off the beaten path.

My private Donegal tours are a blend of enjoyment, flexibility, and personalised charm. Drawing from my local knowledge and extensive experience, I craft each private tour to match the unique pace and interests of your group.

Whether you’re on a quest to uncover your Irish ancestral roots or simply seeing the breathtaking views of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, a customised tour with a private chauffeur, led by a Donegal native, is the ideal choice for your small group.

Let’s make your Irish vacation unforgettable!

My Favourite Donegal Tours

Inishowen

An Grianan of Aileach, Co. Donegal

The ‘Inishowen 100’ offers scenic views from Grianan of Aileach fort, a breathtaking descent at Mamore Gap, a step back in time at Doagh Famine Village as well as Ireland’s most northerly point Malin Head.

I love to go off the beaten path to experience Ireland’s raw, untouched beauty, thrilling landscapes, and deep historical roots away from the crowds.

South Donegal

Muckross Head View

The South Donegal tour includes traditional Irish culture at Glencolmcille Folk Village and views of views of the Atlantic Ocean, Donegal Bay and the Sligo Mountains from over 600m high at Sliabh Liag sea cliffs.

I love hearing the gasps of awe as we turn each corner on this part of the Wild Atlantic Way, revealing views that stretch beyond the horizon

Donegal Gaeltacht

Bloody Foreland, Co. Donegal

The Donegal Gaeltacht tour is particularly close to my heart as it is where I was born and raised. I have fond memories of Sunday drives with my family around Glenveagh National Park and poisoned glen.

I also enjoy sharing a cúpla focail (a few words) of Irish on board this Gaeltacht tour as my guests marvel at the unspoilt views.
